My family moved to Detroit when I was 11 years old, and this city has shaped who I am today. I worked as a cook for several years, and later managed gas station/liquor stores while attending college full time. I earned my bachelor’s in computer science and went on to work as a software engineer before following my true passion in real estate.
I bought my first investment property at age 26. I lost about $1,100 on that deal, but it turned out to be one of the best lessons of my life. It taught me how to hire and manage contractors, budget renovation costs, and evaluate future flips more carefully. Since then, I have continued to grow by purchasing my own home and acquiring multiple rentals, which I manage personally. Managing these homes has given me hands-on experience with tenant relations, maintenance, and long-term property management.
